site requirements

For full instructions, refer to the Sognefjord System Pro Guide and always follow your local pool, spa, electrical, plumbing, safety and building regulations.

  • Environment: The Sognefjord System Pro is IPX5 weather resistant, but indoor or covered locations are recommended for best performance and service life.
  • Weight-bearing location: Confirm the site can support 2,500 kg or more when filled and in use. Use a rigid, level surface rated for the full wet weight plus users.
  • Level surface: Place the bath on a solid, level surface. A slight drainage fall is OK if the bath is fully supported and levelled on its feet.
  • Wet area and drainage: Locate the bath in a wet area with a floor waste. The bottom drain can discharge via garden hose or hard plumbed using the drain snap-out.
  • Power supply: Connect to a dedicated 220--240 V, 50 Hz single-phase circuit. The bath must be hardwired to an accessible wall-mounted isolator within 3 m and outside high-splash zones.
  • Entry and exit: Choose a position with safe access. The outer step can mount left, right, or front. Wall-mounted grab handles are recommended for safe entry and exit.
  • Ventilation requirements: The Sognefjord System Pro uses a common r290 refrigerant. If inside, the room must have constant airflow or mechanical ventilation. Always keep 50 mm clearance beneath the service area and 700 mm clear in front of the service door.
  • Access to water: Provide nearby access to potable water for top-ups and water changes. The bath can be filled through the open top or through the drainage valve in the base using a hose or nearby tap.
  • Shower: Provide shower facilities to rinse before use. Showering before use helps maintain water quality.
  • Installation pathway: Confirm the bath can be moved safely to its final location. Check doorways, corners, stairs, ramps, lifts, and access points before delivery.
delivery
  • Free shipping: Shipping is free Australia-wide with every Sognefjord System Pro.
  • Packed for transport: Each unit is boxed, strapped to a pallet and shipped with FedEx/TNT.
  • Pallet size and weight: The packed pallet is approximately 2.1 m long x 0.9 m wide x 1.3 m high and weighs roughly 400 kg.
  • Kerbside delivery: Delivery is kerbside, meaning the pallet will be unloaded in a safe location near the driveway or property access point.
  • Someone must be present: Someone must be on site to receive the delivery.
  • Moving into position: The unit is heavy and will require multiple people, suitable equipment or specialist movers to move it into its final location.
  • Installation support: For difficult access, final placement or complete installation, Fjord can provide assistance at an additional cost.
installation

For full instructions, please refer to the Sognefjord System Pro guide.

  • Move into position: The bath is carefully moved into its final location using suitable lifting equipment or multiple capable people.
  • Ensure clearances: Once positioned, make sure there is enough space around the bath for setup, plumbing, ventilation and maintenance.
  • Level the unit: The eight adjustable feet are used to level the bath so it sits stable, supported and even.
  • Connect drainage: The bottom drain can be hard-plumbed for easy draining, or left as is and drained with a hose when required.
  • Connect power: A licensed electrician will hardwire the unit to a wall-mounted isolator. The bath should remain switched off until setup is complete.
  • Connect dosing system: Route and connect the auto-dosing lines to the acid and chlorine tanks housed inside the external step.
  • Attach steps: The external step is attached and the internal adjustable seat is fitted and adjusted.
  • Fill with water: The bath is filled with clean potable water, keeping the water level above the required operating level.
  • Add Chemicals: Prepare the diluted acid and chlorine solutions, place the tanks inside the external step, and ensure the dosing lines are submerged and secure.
  • Power on and Balance: Turn on the ice bath and check circulation, filtration and sanitisation. Prime the dosing pumps to begin balancing the water chemistry.
  • Set and Use: Set the desired temperature and allow the bath to cool. Once temperature and the pH & ORP readings are within range, it is ready for use.
maintenance & service

For full guidance, please refer to the Sognefjord System Pro guide. The following is a guide for a commercial Sognefjord System Pro with around 4-6 plunges per hour. Actual maintenance may vary depending on usage.

  • Daily Check: Confirm water level, visible circulation, cross-check pH & ORP readings, chemical tank levels and ensure overall cleanliness. Do this throughout the day. It takes around 5 minutes each time.
  • Change Filter Cartridge: Swap in a clean filter cartridge to maintain strong flow and filtration performance. In high use facilities do this twice a week. It takes around 2 minutes.
  • Clean Used Filter Cartridge: Rinse, soak, clean and dry the used filter cartridge so it is ready for the next change. In high use facilities do this twice a week. It requires around 15 minutes of work.
  • Top Up Sanitising Chemicals: Dilute sanitising chemicals and refill the acid and chlorine tanks as required to maintain consistent dosing. Typically every 2-3 weeks. It takes around 15 minutes.
  • Water Change & Clean: Drain, clean and refill the bath to reset water quality. While drained, clean the tub, waterline, comfort grip, step and service area. Do this every 1--2 weeks, depending on use. It takes around 20 minutes of work.
  • Deep Clean Circulation System: Run a compatible pipe cleaner through the system to clean internal plumbing, jets, filter housing and lines. Do this every 2-3 months. It requires around 20 minutes of work.
  • Calibrate Auto-Dosing Probes: Cross-check readings with a handheld water tester, when readings drift, calibrate probes. It should be done by a pool technician or a technical team member. It takes about 20 minutes.
  • Pool Technician Service: Have a qualified pool or spa technician test the water, inspect dosing performance and check key components, including probes, tubing, pumps, injectors and circulation. Book regularly based on usage, bather load and compliance requirements.
  • Refrigeration Service: Have the chiller, fans, coils, electrics, airflow and safety systems inspected by a qualified refrigeration technician. Book this annually. It should take around 1 hour.

Almost every component on the Sognefjord System Pro can be repaired or replaced. Replacement parts are available through our website, or you can speak with our technical team for support.
