Every Fjord product is designed, engineered and hand-built in Australia by a team of fabricators, plumbers, electricians and refrigeration technicians who take pride in the details.
We consider every dimension: how a product performs, how it looks, how it fits into a space and how it holds up over years of daily use.

where it all began.
Born to Danish parents, we have always felt a strong connection to Scandinavia and spent many years living there.
In Denmark, winter bathing is not treated as a performance or protocol. It is a ritual, and often a communal one. Young and old, athletes and everyday people gather at the water’s edge to share in something simple, ancient and deeply restorative.
In 2014, we took our first dip in an icy Danish fjord. That same year, we joined local winter bathing clubs, immersed ourselves in the culture and allowed the ritual to become part of how we lived.

When we returned to Australia, something felt missing.
Cold plunging was gaining momentum, but the conversation centred largely on athletic recovery, performance and personal optimisation. The ritual, community and sense of mental wellbeing we had experienced in Denmark were often absent.
We wanted to bring more of that feeling home.
Drawing on our Danish heritage, 15 years of commercial refrigeration experience and a shared belief that wellness products should be both beautiful and functional, we founded Fjord in 2022.

Our ice baths and showers are named after Scandinavian fjords for a reason.
These ancient waterways have supported and connected communities for generations. Their strength, simplicity and calm run through everything we make.

Our approach to design is rooted in the tradition we grew up with.
Our parents, born in Aarhus in the 1960s, gave us an early education in what good design means. Through them, and through our own years in Denmark, we learned that Danish design is not about decoration or trends. It is about clarity, function and getting the details right.
It is defined by honest materials, considered craftsmanship, integrity of form and a sense of permanence. Objects should not only look good today. They should remain useful, relevant and valued over time.

We design every Fjord product for everyone who will experience it, from the guest stepping into the water to the operator managing it and the technician maintaining it.
